Vesa Purokuru

Vesa Purokuru has founded two interdisciplinary contemporary circus groups: Circus Triste, which glorifies nostalgia, beauty and fun, and Tupacircus, which operates in an old peasant house in the countryside. Vesa is a self-taught performance artist who bases his work on improvisation, a strong physical presence and interaction with collaborating artists, audiences, objects and sounds. Vesa has studied circus arts, clownery, physical theatre and storytelling both in Finland and abroad. In his main job, Vesa works as an organizational consultant using relevant artforms as a tool for development.
